Well it was a brutal day.  Wind gusts not only blew you over as you tee'd up, but if you managed to place the ball in a good spot on the green you'd better run to mark it before the wind decided to place it elsewhere.  But, just as Bess Cook would not have been deterred, neither were the women who showed up to try and lay claim to the coveted trophy.  However, try as everyone did, a playoff was necessary between Diane Roussel and Joan Milazzo.  Because of an oncoming monsoon, the playoff was scheduled for a few days later.  AND, after three holes, the winner of the Grand Prize was:
